Retro Quola refers to the glory days of Quinton and Nola, which were from October 1981 when Quola met in the gazebo at Thornway Road, until the Summer of 1984 when Jonathan Brooks moved in with the Chamberlains. Quinton and Nola did not officially leave "Guiding Light" until April of 1985, but those last few months were so weak that they barely qualify as Retro, or as it is also known, Classic Quola. The height of Retro/Classic Quola was early 82 until they were married on June 24, 1983. Most of the scenes transcribed in the following sections are from that time period, but we also wanted to represent 81, 84 and 85. All of the following scenes are practically word for word transcriptions of what actually came out of the actors' mouths including ums, ahhs and stumbled lines. We have also included screen captures from the scenes transcribed, as well as ACTUAL sound bytes. A few of the scenes even have links to representative Quicktime videos!!! Since many people did not yet have VCRs back then, this is a rare opportunity to relive those great, vintage scenes. . They just don't do character development like that on soaps anymore.
