Deep feelings for Quinton still resided in Helena's heart, even though, she had eventually found love again when she met Justin Marler. Justin had been really good to her. Through him, she had thought she had finally found someone who would love her for who she was inside. It also seemed as though he became her best friend. She could talk to him about just about anything. Most of all, he made her feel like a woman again.

If only I could have been a better wife to you while I had the chance, Helena thought to herself. Things could have been so different if I could have completely gotten over my feelings for Quinton. It seemed like just when she thought she had gotten Quinton Ryan Chamberlain out of her system, something would bring them back to the surface. She just couldn't manage to get him completely out of her heart, and probably never would.

We had so much fun, Quinton, before Nola and her precious daughter came between us. Just what is it that you see in Nola that you don't see in me? Where did we get off track?"

But the more she thought about it, the more it would bring back bad memories of when she was with Silas. No matter how hard she tried to escape them, those particular memories kept coming back like a nightmare. The worst part of all was no matter what she did or where she went, she was always looking over her shoulder, or expecting to hear his brash voice every time she picked up the phone.

On the other hand, Silas wasn't as bad as Quinton made him out to be. He did have some good qualities. She thought back on the brief time she spent with him. One thing about Silas, he always knew what he wanted and how to get it. Which is exactly what attracted Helena to him in the first place.

But he truly was the most merciless and cold-blooded person I have ever encountered in my life, she reconsidered. I'm certainly glad that time in my life is over and done with for good.

His protective nature was exactly what attracted Helena to Salvatore Viconi, the wealthy Italian importer she had met while on a brief trip to Italy. They had hit it off right from the start. In many ways, he reminded Helena of both Quinton and Silas.

"You can charm a bird out of the tree when you want to, Sal," she would often say to him. But he was also a true businessman. When they were together, they made a remarkable team.

"You find them, Helena, I'll find the right customer who's willing to pay the right price," he would often say to her.

More than anything though, they enjoyed each other's company. They would go places and do things she hadn't done in years. And they would have a wonderful time!!!

She wondered, Why did you have to die just when I was starting to enjoy life again? You didn't even insist on me changing my name.

What was so troubling about Salvatore's death is that it happened under such mysterious circumstances. Even though it appeared as though he died of "seemingly natural causes," Helena couldn't help thinking otherwise, just for a moment.

That's silly; Silas has been dead for years, she thought. There is absolutely no possible way that he could have any connection to Sal's death, she reassured herself. Just get that thought out of your head.

Sal was as healthy as a horse, she continued to think to herself. There's nobody I know who ever took care of himself better than he did, and he was only 45 years old!!!

That's pretty much how she explained it to the doctor who pronounced him dead. But it seemed to Helena as though he didn't believe her.

"But Doctor, it's impossible that he would have died of a heart attack," she explained.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Manzini," he somberly explained. "The facts are the facts, Salvatore Viconi died of a plain, ordinary heart attack with no other complications. I'm very sorry for your loss."

Little did she know, Silas was not as "dead" as she and everyone had been lead to believe. In fact, along with Nola and Mrs. Renfield, he was keeping a very close eye on her as well. He had thoughts of including her in his plan too.

“One of these days, Helena," Silas said to himself, "you're going to realize just how much you have MISSED ME!!!" He snarled, "Then I'll have you in my power forever!!!"
