There have been some rumors and speculation that TPTB are interested in Quint & Nola returning, but there has been nothing specific and official from the show. We will post information here as soon it is made available. We are continuing to encourage all Quint and Nola fans to fax/write TPTB at Guiding Light in support of Quola. Go to GL ADDRESSES.
Guiding Light head writers Barbara Esensten and James Harmon Brown recently spoke with SOAP OPERA NEWS about the show, and included a few quotes about Quola. When asked why the story suddenly disappeared, Brown said "When all of the Reva business started happening and we had a couple of other stories playing strongly, like Buzz and Jenna, it became really, really difficult to do everything and play everything. What we've done is that Quint's gone off on some archaelogical dig that's keeping him off the canvas for awhile, until we can have some sort of resolution that makes some emotional sense. We can't play everything."
Esensten added that due to the show's low ratings "what we have to do is to give it our best show. We try to play as many stories as we can, but we have to play the stories we think are the most compelling at the moment. Which is not to say that there are any characters on the show that we don't want to play, but we have to make choices right now about which ones we're going to play, and they were not top on our list as we looked at the amount of minutes we had and what we needed to play."
We Quola fans need to show GL that Quola is still an important couple. With their rich history, they could be the story to bring up the show's ratings, if only given a chance. Keep your letters coming to GL to let them know that we still want to see Quola get their due, or at least get a proper send-off that let's us see them happy once again.

LISA BROWN MARRIES: MARCH 26, 1997
Lisa Brown married Attorney Brian J. Neary on March 26,1997. The ceremony took place in New Jersey. In attendence were Liz Keifer (Blake/GL), Jerry Ver Dorn (Ross/GL), Martha Byrne (Lily/ATWT) and Jane Elliot (ex-Carrie/GL) who also served as witness in the civil ceremony. Lisa and Brian met a year ago when she was called for jury duty.
Michael Tylo announced on January 15 that he is leaving Guiding Light and the role of Quint after being told that there was no plans for, or interest in, a Quint & Nola story. He also states that:
"Mr Rauch (Executive Producer, Paul Rauch), with his changes in the show, explained that he couldn't be flexible in scheduling (every other week at least 2 shows), so that it made it impossible for me to be in Allentown or with my family.""Working like this is no good for an actor and is certainly disappointing to the fans. With all this we came to a meeting of the minds and I was let go."
"It is unfortunate the fans of Quint/Nola will not get the story they deserve and have been waiting for, but for me to continue as window dressing would not do anything for the fans or myself. I will be more than happy to return if a story is developed, but that is out of my hands, only you the fans have the power to create one by letting Guiding Light know how you feel."
"I truly appreciate all the support you have give me and if you are interested in Quint/Nola please let Paul Rauch know. Thank you for all your continued support. Best Wishes, Michael Tylo"

HAPPY ENDINGS
On- and off-screen triumphs
In a way, actors are like sticks. Rub the right two together and you get fire. Back in 1981, GUIDING LIGHT disovered that Lisa Brown and Michael Tylo were, if you will, the right sticks. The show put their characters - quirky Nola, eccentric Quint - together, and the sparks that flew made the Fifth Street fire look like the sort of modest blaze on which Girl Scouts roast marshmallows. Now 15 years - and a slew of other soap parts - later, Brown and Tylo are back where they began, playing the characters that they set ablaze.
Understandably, the actors were a little antsy about going back to the well. What if it was dry?! "Chemistry is something that you can't put your finger on." says Brown. "Michael and I wound up going, 'What was it? Do we have it now?' We realized that it's just something that exists between two people. It's like meeting the perfect person. Michael's my acting soulmate."
