I Saw Yours, and You Saw Mine The following scene took place the morning after Nola and Quint's
wedding night. Not really buying the story anything, the powers that be conservatively waited until they were married for Quint and Nola to first make love. It was extremely difficult for many to believe that two non-religious, sexually experienced adults as attracted to one another as Quint and Nola presumably were, would wait until marriage to sleep together. One theory that makes sense is that TPTB knew that many young girls were fans, thus wanted to set a "good example." Further as part of her becoming a bona fide romantic heroine, Nola's waiting seemed more or less intended to symbolically "re-virginize" the character.
